Junior Research Fellowship
The
Tata memorial centre Junior Research Fellowship is for the scholars/candidates
who are desirous of pursuing the PhD in Life sciences. The Tata Memorial Centre
was initially founded by the Sir Dorabji Tata trust as a mission to provide
service and concern to the Indian people. The cancer Research institute (CRI)
was initially established a s basic research institute which later on moved on
to become pioneer in Cancer research. There are around 40,000 people nearly who
visit this research centre from all over India. It is a testimony for service
oriented research institutes and a private example of philanthropic based
research institutes.
Eligibility Criteria
The
candidates who wish to pursue the PhD studies should have the following
educational qualifications.
1.
The candidate must be an M.SC
in the following subjects. (Applied Biology, Botany, Life Sciences,
Biotechnology, Biosciences, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Molecular biology,
Zoology or any other related biological sciences)
2.
The candidate can also be an
M.Tech in Biotechnology or Bioinformatics.
3.
The candidate should also be a M.Pharm,
MBBS, M.V.Sc from recognised universities with a minimum score of 60 percentage
aggregate marks.
4.
The candidates who are awaiting
results for the final year can also apply for the scholarship to get it vaild
once they receive the final results.
Scholarship amount
The
scholarship is provided for a fee amount worth rupees 16,000 plus 16% HRA. The
HRA is provided as the institute may give only limited hostel facilities for
the students based on first come and first serve basis. The limited facilities
are available on ACTRES campus. The scholarship amount plus the HRA will allow
the student to pursue the research line without any problem.
How to Apply
The
application process for the above mentioned scholarship is given as follows. The
candidates who are desirous of pursuing the research are required to apply
through online. The website details given are www.tmc.gov.in/jrftest.
The
candidates should submit the completed and duly signed and filled in application
along with all the enclosures and credentials with a demand draft of Rs.300.
The DD should be drawn in favour of TMC-ACTREC payable at Navi Mumbai. (No fee
payable for the female candidates, SC/ST candidates/physically handicapped
candidates with the proof to be attached)
The
candidates must send in their applications to reach us Senior Administrative
Officer, Advanced Centre for treatment, research and education in cancer, Tata
memorial centre, Kharghar, Navi Mumbai – 410210 latest by 14th
April, 2014.
The
candidates should be writing their name and application number behind the demand
draft.
Admission Process
The
admission process is completely based on the written examination and the
personal interviews. The list of shortlisted candidates who are found to be
eligible for the written test is displayed on the actrec campus website.

The
last date for the receipt of the application forms is 14th of April,
2014.
