Scholarship Details

The Jagadish Bose National Science Talent Search, Kolkata is an autonomous registered society under the Government of India, West Bengal. It is registered under the West Bengal Society registration Act XXI of 1860. The organisation is being administered by the Government of India           and is being promoted by the Government of India. The administration is being governed by the representatives of the state government, academicians and the people from the industry. The Jagadish Bose National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS) is conceptualised by the visionaries like Dr.B.C.Roy and Sir Jehangir Ghandy as a mark to commemorate the memories of Birth centenary celebrations of Acharya J C Bose, India’s modern scientist.

Last date for the submission of the talent search

The last date for the submission of the Jagadish Bose National Science Talent Search Office is 2^nd September, 2014. The admit cards will be dispatched to the students on or before 16^th September, 2014. In any case admit cards are not received, the students can contact JBNSTS office.

Application Process

The application process is quite simple for the talent search. Before you fill up the application form, read the form carefully in detail. In case, you have a change in your current residential address, Please notify immediately for proper communication.

Along with the duly filled in application, the form should get accompanied with the following documents.

1.       Photocopies of the original qualifying mark sheet of the higher secondary examination or the equivalent examination to be attested by the Principal /Head of the department of your University/Institute/College or the Gazetted office.

2.       Three passport size photos to be attested by the Principal/Head of the department of your University/Institute/College or the Gazetted Office.

3.       A copy of Proof of the first year admission.

4.       The envelope should be self addressed for the purpose of admission card. The envelope (20cm * 10cm)

5.       The demand draft of 200/-which is non-refundable payable at Kolkata, in favour of ‘Jagadish Bose Science Talent Search‘  for the purpose of examination fee.

Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for the students to take up this exam are given below.

1.       The students who have passed (10+2) examination in the year (2013) are eligible to apply.

2.       The students who are currently pursuing either Basic Sciences/Medicine/Engineering in West Bengal are eligible to apply for the above mentioned talent search programme.

3.       The basic test will be conducted on Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Life Sciences.
