Scholarship Details

The University of Sussex is pleased to invite applications for the scholarships for the economic and social development programs for the students of India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. The scholarship is awarded for the one year master’s programmes in specified areas. These scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit and not by mans of financial need.

Study subjects

The study subjects provided are for the following areas of study only. The subjects are Anthropology, developmental studies, International development (which also includes the Institute of developmental studies), economics, Education (including MA in childhood and youth studies ), Gender studies, International relations, human rights and migration studies at the University of Sussex, United Kingdom.

The scholarship is awarded to the students for the postgraduate taught programme at the University of Sussex.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate has to satisfy the following eligibility criteria to avail the above mentioned scholarship position. The candidates are advised to go though them before hand and then apply if eligible for the scholarship.

1.       The candidates must be nationals or the residents of the following countries such as India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The students who are currently residing in the United Kingdom are not eligible for the scholarship.

2.       The candidate should apply for the mentioned scholarships in the areas of Anthropology, development studies, economics, education, gender studies, international studies and human rights and international studies.

3.       The candidate should not have studied at the degree level at the United Kingdom.

4.       The candidates should be classified as ‘overseas’.

The scholarship is provided for the students of India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Though these scholarships are merit based, the provider has not mentioned the number of awards.

The duration of the scholarship is offered to the students for one yea

The scholarship amount provided to the candidates with a fee waiver of £5000.

The criteria of selection for these scholarships are based on the academic merit and not on the basis of financial need of the candidate.

The notification period of time is given as follows. The student funding team  lets the winning applicants aware of the scholarships by the month of June.
