Junior Research Fellowship Punjab University

The Punjab University is inviting applications for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) position in the DST sponsored research project ‘Collaboration by Indian Physicists on Neutrino Physics’ with scholars and students having M.Sc /PhD holders. Also, there are numerous fellowships the Punjab University is offering to the M.Sc scholars. Below are the details.

1.       Fellowship details- Department of Physics

The fellowship is for the DST sponsored research project or the UGC-BSR research projects for the M.Sc /PhD holders.

Last date of submission of the application

The last date for the fellowship application is 20^th July, 2014.   

Eligibility criteria

The criteria of the eligibility are given as follows.

1.       The research fellowship is for the Indian nationals.

2.       The scholars and candidates applying for the fellowship must have the basic qualification of M.Sc (Physics) / M.Sc(Physics and Electronics) with 1^st division NET/ NET (LS).

2.       Fellowship Details- Department of Microbiology

The Punjab University is inviting applications for the recruitment of fellows for the research fellowships with M.Sc /PhD.

Research fellowships details

The Punjab University (PU) is inviting applications from meritorious candidates for the research fellowships in the department of microbiology for pursuing the PhD programme. The terms and conditions of eligibility are given as below.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates applying for the research fellowship should be M.Sc degree in Microbiology/ Biotechnology/Microbial biotechnology with not less than 55 percentage in aggregate.

Number of fellowships

The number of fellowships for the above scholarship is mentioned to be around five.

Fellowship fee

The fellowship is rupees 14,000 per month (fixed) plus HRA. The research fellowship is intended for the scholars who have qualified CSIR-UGC NET/GATE examination in life sciences. The scholars who have qualified the PhD entrance test are eligible for the research fellowship.

Duration of the Scholarship

The duration of the scholarship is initially for one year. The scholarship can be extended to the next five years. The scholars who have performed satisfactorily during the fellowship have their duration extended for some years.

How to Apply

The applications on a plain paper with detailed bio-data and attested copies of certificates/testimonials should be sent to the office of Chairperson, department of Microbiology, Panjab University, Chandigarh on or before July 20, 2014 5.00 pm.

The selected candidates will be notified and will be entitled to the fellowship only with the permission of UGC.
