The Asia research institute of the NUS is
pleased to invite applications from the Asian graduate student fellowships from
citizens of various countries. The fellowship is for the students who are
currently about to pursue their Master’s or postgraduate degree and should get
enrolled in an Asian country for a full time PG degree course. The fellowship
is for a period of six weeks and almost covers prorated monthly expenses, reimbursement
of cost of training employment pass and visa fees, airfare, access to the library
resources on the campus and three working days of leave. The applications
should be reached before the deadline.

subjects
The fellowships are awarded in the field of
humanities and social sciences on Southeast Asian topics at the Asian research
institute of NUS, Singapore. The fellowship is provided for the students of
postgraduate research level.

Eligibility
criteria
The candidate has to satisfy the
eligibility criteria to avail the above mentioned fellowship.
1.
The Asia research institute of
NUS requires candidates who are currently pursuing their master’s or
postgraduate degree programme and are enrolled for a full time Master’s course
at any of the recognised universities in the Asian country.
2.
The candidates are allowed to
be recipients during the six week programme at the NUS.
3.
The fellowship is not
applicable to the candidates from Singapore but only to those who are citizens
of countries in Asia.

are eligible for these fellowships. The citizens of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bhutan, Brunei, Burma (Myanmar), Cambodia,
China, Georgia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia Iran, Iraq, Israel, Japan, Jordan,
Kazakhstan, Korea, North, Korea, South, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Lebanon,
Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Oman, Pakistan, Philippines,
Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Syria, Taiwan, Tajikistan,
Thailand, Turkey, Turkmenistan, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, Vietnam and
Yemen.
Duration
of awards
The duration of the fellowship provided by
the Asian research institute is for a period of six weeks.
Scholarship
coverage
The successful candidates will be
benefitted with the following benefits.
1.
The candidate will receive a
pro-rated monthly allowance based on SGD 1,250, a settling in allowance of SGD
1,000 and a monthly housing allowance of SGD 250.
2.
Reimbursement of cost of
training and all of the visa charges
3.
Complete access to the library
resources and computer resources on
campus
4.
Three working days of leave
5.
A one-time round trip travel
subsidy by the most economical direct route.
