the scholarship
The fellowship is for the junior research
position/project assistant at the Department of Botany, Karimganj college,
Assam, India for a SERB, DST sponsored project entitled ‘Physiological and molecular approaches to
dehydration stress tolerance and recovery in Oryza sativa L. : role of calcium’.
The fellowship is supposed to last for three years. The interview dates will be
announced once the applicants are shortlisted.
The
department of Botany was established at 1949. The department of Botany has
received grant for introducing the advance diploma in biotechnology. The
department has introduced honours programme in biotechnology in the year 2006. The
department has at present eight laboratories with state of the art facilities
Tissue culture lab, Biochemistry lab, Molecular Biology lab, Microbiology lab.

Eligibility
criteria
The candidate has to satisfy the below
eligibility criteria for the above mentioned fellowship.
1.
The candidate should be M.Sc
either in Biotechnology or Molecular biology or in any of the Life sciences
fields.
2.
The desired qualification of the
candidate is that he/she should be NET qualified with research experience or
project work in areas of plant biochemistry/ molecular biology/stress
psychology/biotechnology with a published paper.
3.
The age limit of the candidate
should be below or 28 years.

students. The students from India are eligible for the junior research
fellowship.

of awards
The fellowship is offered for only one
junior research fellow position for the SERB, DST sponsored project at the
department of Botany, Assam, India.
Duration
of awards
The duration of the award is for three
years. The initial scholarship is for only 6 months and can be extended after
the review of the satisfactory performance of the work done during the previous
months/year.
The position may also end with the end of
the project.
