British Council announces IELTS Scholarship
The British Council is inviting
applications from the students who wish to go to abroad for higher studies in an
English-speaking country. The British Council has been helping the students to
pursue Higher education from different universities abroad. The IELTS
examination is for the students who are desirous of pursuing undergraduate and
post graduate courses.

The IELTS (International English language
testing systems) is the world’s leading international examination to test one’s
ability and evaluate one’s English language proficiency and to communicate in
English for education, professional accreditation worldwide and immigration.
The British Council’s 25th IELTS
anniversary scholarships are being offered to the students this year. The
applications for the above mentioned scholarship should reach them by 31st
May, 2014. The IELTS scholarship award is given to eight young talented and
meritorious candidates to achieve their goals they have set for their life. The
candidates are awarded a scholarship fee of about 300,000 lakh each towards the
cost of the tuition fee for the entire period of tenure.
The IELTS is accepted in many institutions of
about 135 countries and in around 3000 institutions in US alone. The worldwide
countries have about 8000 institutions which accept IELTS as an evaluation of
the English language system.

Eligibility
Criteria
The eligibility criteria for the mentioned
scholarship are given below. The scholarship eligibility is to be satisfied by
the candidates in order to get shortlisted for the scholarship.
1.
The candidates should be
nationals of India.
2.
They should secure a minimum band
score of 6.0 in the IELTS (International English language testing system)
examination.
3.
They should have taken the
English test recently with the British council.
4.
They should begin the academic
year of study at any of the universities abroad to pursue undergraduate or
postgraduate courses.
5.
They should produce a proof of
admission/offer letter with any recognised university for their desire to
pursue the course of study.
How
to Apply
The application form for the IELTS scholarship
can be obtained/downloaded from the official website.
The applications should be sent before the
last closing date of 30th June, 2014. All the enquiries should be
sent to the email id of scholarshipielts@britishcouncil.or.jp.
The scholarships are awarded for around 260
undergraduate and postgraduate courses ranging from Engineering, Law, Biosciences,
IT, Business of art and design. The 36 institutions in and around United Kingdom
across Wales, England, Northern Ireland, and Scotland (list of the institutions
are given as a document in the website) are taking part in the scholarship
programme. The scholarship is valid for students who are September 2014 and
January 2015 intakes.
