L’Oreal India science scholarships

The L’Oreal India science scholarships are exclusively for the young women who are interested in pursuing Science as the major subject in their career. The scholarships are provided to the female students as an initiative to give importance and light on their interests and goals. The L’Oreal India Scholarships for young women in India is a merit based scholarship programme provided for the female students who are desirous of studying Biosciences, Computer Science, Biotechnology, Information technology, Engineering and Technology, Medicine at an under-graduate level.

Scholarship Details

The scholarship is provided by the L’Oreal India Private Ltd. The scholarship is an extended initiative of the international L’Oreal-UNESCO for Women in Science partnership. This scholarship is due to the support of the UNESCO and Indian National Commission for Cooperation. This scholarship promotes the growth and opportunity of the young women in the stream of Science.

Their main objective is to find and acknowledge deserving candidates and provide them with the aid and encouragement to the young women to excel in the field of Science. The scholarship initiative was started off during 2003. Such scholarships are initiated to provide financial aid to the deserving and economically weaker section students who are desirous of doing a course in Science/Technology/ Medicine/Engineering.

Scholarship Amount

The programme is entering its twelfth year and is providing its support every year with the young women. The scholarship amount of up to 2,50,000/- is given every year. The students can avail of the bursary which can allow them to take up the course at college/university of their choice in India. The scholarship is exclusive only allowed to female students.

Number of Scholarships

The scholarships awarded to the female candidates every year are around 30.  

Eligibility Criteria

The criteria of eligibility for the students to apply for this scholarship are given below.

1.       The female students are only eligible to apply for the scholarship.

2.       The candidate is desired to have passed the class 12^th examination from Delhi/Bangalore/Maharashtra/ NCR during the current academic year while applying for the scholarship. The candidates should be less than 17 years.

3.       The candidate should have secured a minimum of 85% in PCM/PCB streams in the class 12^th examination.

How to Apply

The application form can be downloaded from the website. The form should be sealed well along with the following documents with mentioning ‘Scholarship’ on the top left corner of the envelope.

1.       Attested photocopies 10^th and 12^th Mark Sheets.

2.       Evidence of the parent’s income and form 16.

3.       A write-up of about 600 words to be written by the candidate about how this scholarship helps them to grow.
