The Madurai Kamaraj University is pleased to
invite applications for the two junior research fellowship positions in the
combined Indo-UK project entitled ‘RICEFUEL: Engineering enzymes for advanced
bio-fuels’ at the department of Genetics, School of Biological sciences,
Madurai Kamaraj University.
The Madurai Kamaraj University, established
in 1966 has found 18 schools which comprise of around 73 departments. The
distance education of the university has around 1.30 lakh students. The
university has around 109 affiliated universities and among them, nine
universities are autonomous. Some of the universities also prove to have 7
evening colleges. They have set up research centres to unleash the research
potential in the faculty members as well as students who are desirous of
pursuing research in their career path.
Duration
of the Project
The duration of the project is around 3
years. The project is totally an Indo-UK project and the project to b handled
is an entirely a project of the department of Genetics.
The first two years will require the
candidate to work full-time in the position of Junior Research Fellow and from
the third year, it requires the candidate to work in the position of Senior
Research fellowship.
Essential
Qualification
The candidate is required to have the
following essential qualifications.
1.
The candidate should hold the
post graduate degree of 1st class M.Sc Genomics/Microbiology/ Biochemistry/Biotechnology
or any related areas of Life sceinces.
2.
The candidate should be an
Indian National to pursue the above fellowship for the entire period of three
years.
Desired
Qualification
The candidate is desired to have the
following qualification.
The candidate should have qualified the
National Eligibility Test (NET) by UGC/CSIR with a desired research experience
in recombinant DNA technology. Such candidate profiles will b preferred for th
fellowship.
Fellowship
Amount
The fellowship amount provided to the
candidates is given below.
The amount of 12,000 plus 20% HRA in the
beginning of two years of fellowship and an amount of 14,000 plus 20% HRA is
provided in the third year of the fellowship.
