SAI Youth Scholarships for AY2015

The SAI youth scholarships are for students who are willing to take up 2-year pre-university studies in selected Singapore junior colleges which can also be renewed every year annually on a condition that the scholar satisfies the scholarship with a good performance. This scholarship on successful completion leads to the award of the Singapore-Cambridge general certificate of education (GCE ‘A’) or equivalent certificate.

The applications are usually open from 6th June, 2014 (7.30am IST) to 13th July, 2014 (7.30pm IST)

Criteria of Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for the SAI youth scholarships for AY2015 is

1.       Indian nationals

2.       Should have finished the class 10^th in the year 2014.

3.       Should be born in the year 1996 and 1998.

4.       Should have excellent academic records (with at-least a minimum ‘A’ with English being the first language in the standard 10^th examination)

How to apply

The application has to be sent online. The candidate should be submitting only one online application. All the applicants are to be sent with the following certified documents.

1.       Proof of birth certificate.

2.       Passport/Identity card.

3.       Final examination Results proof/slips for the standard 9, standard 10 and national Board examination.

4.       The online application form print out to the following address.

All the necessary documents certified should be sent via photocopies only. The original documents should not be sent in any case as they will not be returned.

All the photocopies should have the online application number mentioned on them. The documents should be reached before the closing date/deadline of 13 July, 2014.  

Some Important Dates to Remember

The important dates are given below. Any of the dates in between are subject to changes.

Period till one can apply for the scholarship – 6 June to 13 July 2014

Selection test – End of August till September, 2014

Selection Interview - End October to early November, 2014

Scholarship award – Mid to late November, 2014

The candidates who are shortlisted after the selection/Interview will only be notified for the interview process a week before the selection process.

The test and the interview place would be in New Delhi, India.

Terms and Conditions

1.       An annual allowance of US$2400 towards tuition fee along with hostel accommodation.

2.       Return economy class airfare

3.       School fees coverage (miscellaneous fees included)

4.       An allowance known as setting-in allowance of US$500 (only once)

5.       Accident insurance cover and subsidised medical benefits

6.       GCE ‘A’ level examination coverage (only once)
