About NIAB

The National Institute of Animal Biotechnology is an autonomous institution under the department of Biotechnology, Ministry of science and technology, Government of India. This campus has been established in the University of Hyderabad. The National Institute of Animal biotechnology, Hyderabad is now inviting applications for the post of project fellow positions for various projects.

The objective of the research institution is to enhance the knowledge in livestock and health. The key objective is to translate the knowledge of livestock industry and technology through innovative science and technological advancements in scientific field. The NIAB has been found as an incubator for many companies that have just taken their journey or are known as start-ups. It also is known to act as a repository at a national level of biotech products and processes.

Post of application

The application post is for the position of project fellows.

Fellowship Amount

The fellowship amount given for the post of project fellows is Rs.16000 per month plus HRA around 30 %. The other fellows are given an amount of Rs.12000 per month plus 30 percentage HRA.

The fellows should be NET-JRF/GATE qualified.

Eligibility and Qualification

The eligibility criteria for the above mentioned scholarship are given below.

1.       M.Sc In Life Sciences

The hands on experience in flow cytometry , microbiology, HPLC, Protein chemistry techniques and molecular biology.

2.       M.V.Sc in Animal reproduction

The desired qualification for the candidate is the experience in handling of large animals, pregnancy diagnosis, artificial insemination, and ultrasonography. Communication skills are expected to excellent towards field research of study.

3.       M.V.Sc in Parasitology

The desired candidate qualification for the candidate is an experience in cell culture and molecular biology techniques.  

4.       M.Sc with experience with parasitology or infectious disease biology

The desired candidate qualification for the candidate is an experience in cell culture and molecular biology techniques.

5.       M.Sc/M.Tech in Bioinformatics

The desired qualification for the candidate is an experience in genome data analytics.

NET/GATE qualification is an added qualification and is mandatory for all the above positions.

The eligible candidates can apply for the above mentioned scholarship only through online mode. The website for the scholarship is www.niab.org.in on or before the month of December, 2014.

The number of vacancies for the above mentioned scholarship may increase or decrease. The candidates who are selected for the scholarship are purely on temporary basis. The candidates may increase/extend their research for another year provided they have a satisfactory record of research work done. If the research work has been found satisfactory, the interview and a review will be held for the candidates for extension.
