About the scholarship in detail
The Australia awards scholarship awards are long term development awards administered by the ausAID and the department of the foreign affairs and trade. These scholarships are meant for the students from the International countries in line with the Australia’s bilateral and regional agreements.

The applications are invited from the candidates who are from the developing countries for undergraduate and post graduate study opportunities at some of the prestigious universities at Australia such as University of Queensland and Technical and Further Education (TAFE) institutions.


The study and research positions and opportunities which are provided by the Australia awards scholarships develop skills and help in the complete development of knowledge of the candidates and individuals to drive a change and help in the development of the outcomes of their own country.

The postgraduate coursework scholarships are meant for the international candidates and students who intend to finish the postgraduate programme and go back to their own country for their development and work of their own nation. 

Applications are open for the submission
The applications for the Australia’s postgraduate coursework scholarships at the University of Queensland startfrom 1st January, 2014.

Closing date
The applications for the post graduate course work closes on 31st December, 2014.

Scholarship benefits
The scholarship has the following benefits for the above mentioned postgraduate coursework.
The scholarship awards are offered for the minimum period of the course until the candidate finishes the postgraduate or the undergraduate work specified by the Australian higher education institutions, including the preparatory trainings involved.

The following are the benefits which generally apply for the scholarship programme at the University of Queensland.
1.       Full tuition fees waiver
2.       Establishment allowance- a once in all payment of $5000 dollars as a contribution towards accommodation expenses, study materials and the text books.
3.       Return air fare- the payment for the return of the single return, economy class to and fro from Australia with the most direct route know and possible.
4.       Overseas student health cover (OSHC) for the duration of the award to the scholarship holder alone which is given to the candidate for the student’s basic medical costs.
5.       Introductory Academic Program (IAP) – a basic 4 to 6 week program prior to the commencement of the academic study enrolled by the candidate that covers the information on life and study at Australia.
6.       Supplementary academic study is available for the scholars who wish to enhance their academic success and academic experience.
7.       Contribution towards the living expenses (CLE) is being provided to the candidates for the fortnight which is around 30,000 USD per year.

The scholarship award conditions are given below.
The candidates applying for the Australian scholarship awards are required to sign a contract with the commonwealth of Australia declaring that they will comply with the conditions with the country.
