The communication department of the Ateneo
de Manila University in Philippines is providing scholarships/fellowships which
are full time in the field of Journalism. The fellowships are meant for the
full time Asian journalists who have excellent academic records, professional
records, a commitment to good journalism and leadership qualities.
The fellowship programme is designed for
the working journalists. The programme is a hybrid distance learning programme.
The programme involves classroom sessions to be held at the Ateneo de
Manila University’s Loyola campus in the city of Quezon, Philippines. This
programme allows the working professionals to learn at their own pace and at
the comfort of their homes. The international faculty includes the experienced
journalists and the great academics from the places of Germany, Australia, UK, US,
the Philippines, Canada, Malaysia and India. The course consists of 12 courses
in ethics, writing courses and specialised reporting which may include
International Journalism, reporting about religions and Investigative
journalism.

Duration
of awards
The fellowship is awarded to the Asian
journalists for up to two years.
Scholarship
coverage/amount
A fellowship grant covers the working
journalist with the tuition fee and other expenses for the two year fellowship
programme. The grants include full tuition fee coverage, books and stationery,
travel expenses (international and domestic) and living expenses on the campus
if it requires. Other forms of support
and rants are also present for the part-time journalists, teachers and senior
faculty members at the university.

criteria
The ACFG fellowships are awarded for the
M.A in journalism sponsor Asian journalists who can demonstrate their
excellence in their work and can contribute to the press in their own
communities and societies.
