Acumen Global Fellowship Program for International Applicants

Scholarship details

 

The Acumen fund is pleased to announce the global fellowships for the international applicants every month. The individuals should have a minimum of three years of work experience. The fellowship consists of eight week program which comprises of training at the Acumen New York office which helps the candidates to learn more about the business models for the poor and help in the leadership skills. This gives them an opportunity to learn more about the Acumen.  

The fellows work at one of the Acumen’s portfolio companies as key staff members for about nine months. The online applications are to be submitted before the deadline.

Study subjects

The Acumen research fellows will study the business models for the poor, help in honing the leadership skills and gives these fellows to learn more about the Acumen services. Once the training program is over, the fellows will have to work in one of the Acumen’s office as one of the key staff member.

The scholarship can be taken at one of the current Acumen portfolio companies such as India, USA, Kenya, Pakistan, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, and Peru. 

Eligibility criteria

The candidate has to satisfy the eligibility criteria to avail the programme. 

1.       The applicants should have diverse backgrounds, and should have business experience: sales, finance, operations, marketing and consulting.

2.       The candidate should have passion and commitment towards creating the positive social change.

3.       Experience in living and working in emerging trends. The candidate’s characteristics include grit, courage and perseverance are some the candidate requires to have.

4.       The candidate should have a minimum of three years of work experience.

5.       The candidates of any nationality are eligible to apply.  

Scholarship Open for International students

The scholarship is open for the students of any nationality.  

Duration of awards

The duration of the fellowship is for a 12 month programme.

Scholarship coverage 

The scholarship provided to the candidates covers them with reasonable monthly living costs for the entire duration of the fellowship programme. The student should not save the money or intend to use the same money for paying back the previous loans.  

The travel to New York for the first part of the program and travel to other parts of the field placements and other costs regarding the visa arrangements will be covered by the Acumen.

The selection criteria include the candidate’s interests, background, preferences, and skill set. The candidate’s criteria should match with the needs of the investor making it a rich experience for all the people involved.
