The applications are invited for the Chevening Gurukul scholarships for leadership and excellence programme. These Gurukul scholarships are provided from the students and future leaders from India for the twelve week programme in the study subjects of stages of democracy: devolving power and Governance in the 21^st century, From finance to Facebook: New economies of Technology, regulating public life: new rights and judicial activism, culture matters: the place of the arts in society, science, technology, industry: the symbiotic relationship in practice and Indo-UK business and Trade relations in the new era, The Challenge of Sustainability: Public Policy and Institutions in the 21st Century. 

Eligibility criteria

The course is basically a team-taught programme in United Kingdom and in addition to the academics from King’s cross London and beyond, the faculty comprises of leading professionals and practitioners from political leaders and diverse sectors. The 12 week programme course includes various trips to Geneva where fellows will get an opportunity to interact with representatives of international agencies such as the United Nations and the world trade Organisation.

Study subjects

The scholarships are based on the below themes namely 

1.       Stages of democracy: devolving power and Governance in the 21^st century.

2.       From finance to Facebook: New economies of Technology.

3.       Regulating public life: new rights and judicial activism.

4.       Culture matters: the place of the arts in society, science, technology.

5.       Industry: the symbiotic relationship in practice and Indo-UK business and Trade relations in the new era.

6.       The Challenge of Sustainability: Public Policy and Institutions in the 21st Century.

Scholarship can be taken

The scholarship is provided by the UK government, United Kingdom. It is to be undertook at United Kingdom.  

Duration of the scholarship

The scholarship is of period of 12 weeks. 

Number of awards

The number of awards being offered every year is around 12 scholarships. 

Scholarship amount

The value of the scholarship or what it covers for a single scholarship is given below. The selected Gurukul fellows will be offered an intensive, all the expenses paid for the twelve week residential course at King’s college London. Each has the following benefits.

1.       Accommodation for the scholars.

2.        Return airfare to the United Kingdom from India

3.       An allowance for subsistence

4.       Travel and accommodation on study visits.

5.       Travel expense to and fro from London and within London

6.       KCL study fees

7.       A gratis UK visa

These Gurukul fellows will be put under 12 week residential programme with all the above mentioned benefits.
