The University of Technology, Sydney, Australia are inviting applications from the Indian students for the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam and UTS PhD scholarship. The university is inviting students of exceptional research potential to undertake the PhD programme at the University of Sydney. The scholarship grant is offered for the period of three years for the entire period of the doctorate studies. The students of India are eligible to it and can lay hold of it in UK. 

The APJ Abdul Kalam and UTS PhD scholarship aims to foster the academic and cultural links of India and Australia. Thus, creating a gateway to international students at the University of Sydney, Australia helps to provide students with lot many opportunities.

The study subjects are not limited. All courses for which the PhD doctor studies are provided can be undertook by the candidate if he/she specialises in it.

Eligibility criteria

The candidate has to satisfy the following eligibility criteria for the above mentioned scholarship. 

1.       The candidate must be from the domicile of India.

2.       The candidate should have an offer of study for a postgraduate research program at the University of Technology, Sydney, Australia.

3.       The candidate should have completed a bachelor degree with first class honours or be regarded as UTS student as having an equivalent level of attainment.

4.       The candidate should be enrolled as a full time student.

5.       In the year of scholarship, the candidate should be undertaking the PHD course of study. 

Scholarship applicable to

The scholarship is applicable only to Indian international candidates. 

Number of awards

Under the scheme, the University of Technology, Sydney is offering one scholarship for the most deserving candidate. 

Duration of awards

The duration of the scholarship is for a period of three years. 

Scholarship coverage

The scholarship includes a tuition fee waiver and stipend of A$ 24,653 per annum. 

Selection criteria

The scholarship is awarded to the candidate who meets the following selection criteria.

1.       The candidate should have excellent academic records.

2.       The candidate should have good research and relevant experience in the chosen field of study.

3.       Have a good publication of records

4.       The candidate should have relevant research exposure according to the terms of the University of Technology, Sydney.

5.       The candidate should be highly motivated to succeed in the field he/she has chosen.
