The school of social sciences and languages at the VIT University is pleased to invite applications for the research assistantship position to work on the ICSSR funded project entitled ‘Motivation to learn English as Second Language and Language Learning Strategies used by the rural population of India’. The candidates who are desirous of applying for the research assistantship should possess Master’s in English/Psychology/Linguistics or master of Psychology or cognitive sciences. The deadline for the applications falls on the date of 31^st January, 2014.   

Study subjects

The research assistant position is available for the field of ‘Motivation to learn English as Second Language and Language Learning Strategies used by the rural population of India’. The candidates are required to work as a research assistant to the above mentioned ICSSR sponsored project for a period of two years. The research assistant will be provided a monthly stipend according to the university norms.

1. The candidates should possess the Master’s in English/Linguistics/ Psychology or M.Sc (Psychology/Cognitive Sciences).

2.       The candidates who have prior research experience are preferred for the research assistantship.

Scholarship amount/Coverage

The scholarship covers the candidate with an emolument of INR 13,000 per month. The scholarship amount is thus a consolidated one.
