Saltire Scholarships at Scotland’s Higher Education Institutions in UK

Scholarship details

 

The Scotland Saltire Scholarships (SSS) is offering scholarships for the undergraduate, Master’s and PhD research students in the United Kingdom. There are several key priority regions and countries for which the scholarships are applicable namely China, Canada, United States of America, and India. The scholarship is offered for the programmes towards the tuition fees for one complete year of study for any level at any of the Scotland’s higher educational institutions.  

The Saltire scholarship scheme is offering around 200 scholarships to the eligible applicants each worth £2000. All the applications are to be reached within the stipulated time period. These scholarships thus allow the promotion of Scotland as a learning nation. 

Study subjects

The scholarships are provided in the study areas of arts and humanities, communications, media and culture, design, earth sciences, architecture, clean and renewable energy, financial services, music and performing arts, physical and life sciences and technology at any of the Scotland’s higher educational institutions.  

Course level

The students can avail the scholarships on any of the courses of undergraduate, Master’s and PhD degree courses.

The scholarship is provided by the Scottish government and Scottish higher education institutions.

Eligibility criteria

The eligibility criteria for the above mentioned scholarship is given below. 

1.       The candidate if avails a Saltire scholarship is intended to study only at any of the Scottish Universities and higher educational institutions mentioned in the list in the website and not anywhere in the United Kingdom.

2.       All the courses for which scholarships are on offer are full time and not part-time or distance learning programmes.

3.       The candidate should have a conditional or an unconditional offer of study at Scottish university to apply for the scholarship.

4.       The candidate may apply to many of the courses available at the Scottish universities but it is solely at the discretion of the university to provide the candidate with more than one scholarship. 

Scholarship Open for International students

The students from the high priority countries such as Canada, China, India and United States of America are eligible to apply. 

Number of awards

The Saltire Scholarship scheme is offering around 200 scholarships. 

Duration of awards

The scholarship award is offered for the first year of study. 

Scholarship coverage

The Saltire scholarships assist the student holders towards the tuition fees for one year of full time study on any of the courses taken at the Scotland universities.  

Notification

The selected candidates will be informed by the university shortly after the closing date.
