The Sikkim Manipal University is pleased to
offer multiple scholarships for the Indian students who are desirous of
pursuing their education through distance education programs of SMU-DE. The
scholarships are awarded on the basis of the percentage equivalent in the qualifying
examination. The students from Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Tripura, Meghalaya,
Manipur, Mizoram and Nagaland are eligible for 15% scholarship without any
qualification criterion. The benefit of the scholarship for the students comes
only when they apply for the scholarship between 2nd and 31st
of January, 2014.

Eligibility
Criteria
The candidates have to satisfy the following
eligibility criteria to avail the above mentioned scholarship.
1.
The students from the North
eastern part of India such as Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Assam, Meghalaya,
Manipal, Mizoram and Nagaland are eligible for 15 % scholarship without any
eligibility criterion.
2.
For the purpose of defining the
grade for the qualifying examination, the equivalent of percentage is
established with grade in a way which equals 80% to 4 CGPA.

of awards
Around 10000 scholarships are being
provided to the students under the Sikkim Manipal University distance education
programme.
Duration
of the awards
The scholarship amount of 15% from the
tuition fee is not to be paid initially. The rest of the scholarship amount is
required to be paid by the student at the time of joining. The scholarship amount
which was collected will be returned by cheque or demand draft before the march
31st, 2014. For the next semester, the student has to pay the full
tuition fee entirely if the previous semester results are not yet released.

Tripura, Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur and Nagaland are all eligible for
the 15% scholarship without any eligibility criterion to satisfy. The students
have to be in the Top 250 or Top 500 list of students to avail the 50% and 100%
scholarship. The top 250 students with 90% in the qualifying examination are
eligible for the 100% scholarship.
