Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students in India
The department of higher education has been long providing
scholarships and applications for the meritorious students of different classes
from the low income background. A new scholarship scheme namely ‘Central sector
scheme of scholarship for college and University students in India’ has been
launched while the other scholarship schemes are discontinued. The scholarships
are distributed among the pass out students in the ration 3:2:1 who have taken
up science, commerce and humanities.
Scholarship Provider
The scholarships are provided by the Department of Higher
Education.
Scholarship duration
The scholarships will be provided to pursue the higher
secondary education by the students who belong to the lower income group.
Eligibility criteria
- The applicant must be an Indian citizen who belongs to the non-creamy layer.
- The applicant must have passed the class 12 examination which is conducted by the CBSE.
- The applicant must have obtained admission in an undergraduate course of study in a university/institution.
- The applicant should not belong to the creamy layer and their income should not exceed 6 lakh per annum from all other sources.
Application Process
The candidates have to fill in the online application form
by registering in the website given mentioned and by filling out their
secondary school certificate number roll number. The candidates have to take a
print out of the online application form and needs to send along with the
documents with the online registered application via speed post to the
following address.

The documents have to be attached with the following.
- Undergraduate course joining report duly signed and stamped by the head of the institution from where the course is being pursued.
- Original copy of the parent’s income certificate.
- Duly signed in online application form.
- Copy of mark sheet of Sr. School leaving certificate.
- Copy of caste certificate if applicable
- Hard copy of the application form
- One cancelled cheque of the personal/saving account
- Hard copy of the applicant signed by the applicant.
The envelope containing all the documents must be submitted with
the code name bearing on the CSSS –year online registration number on top so as
to reach the board before or on the deadline date.
Selection
The candidates will be selected on the basis of merit along
with the parent’s income. The merit list is prepared within 5 weeks of passing
out results and declaration of the results of any
board/universities/authorities.
The shortlisted candidates will be made informed through the
registered letter and will be sending the following.
- Entitlement card
- Income affidavit form
- A form of ‘statement of particulars’
- The candidates have to confirm once they receive their scholarships.
