Joint CSIR/CFTRI NAM S&T Centre Fellowship on Food Science & Technology in India

Introduction to the Scholarship
 
The NAM S&T centre is pleased to invite applications for the Joint CSIR/CFTRI fellowship for the upcoming academic year. The fellowship is jointly initiated by the centre food technological research institute (CFTRI), Mysore, India. The CFTRI is a constituent laboratory of the Council of Scientific and Industrial research (CSIR), New Delhi, India has aims to providing opportunities to the researchers from the developing countries to take part in the training, upgrade their research skills, and help in conduct their joint research in food and technology in India.

Scholarship duration

The scholarship is provided for the duration of six months. The time period may vary for a period to a minimum to a maximum of six months. 

Scholarship coverage

The fellowship scheme provides the researchers with attractive financial assistance which involves the free single accommodation in Mysore, India and a subsistence allowance of US$300 (in equivalent Indian rupee) per month and other day to day expenses for the food and other expenses. 

Scholarship Provider

The scholarship is provided by the NAM S&T centre and CSIR centre for food and technological research centre. 

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate has to satisfy the eligibility criteria to avail the above mentioned fellowship. 

1.       The researchers having academic qualification of M.Sc or equivalent in research and development in Food science and Technology. The candidates possessing doctoral degree will be preferred for the fellowship.
2.       The upper age limit of the candidate should be 40 years.
3.       The researchers from India are not eligible for the fellowship.
4.       The research applicants should be involved with working or employed earlier with academic institutions and government bodies with proven research and development programmes.
5.       The fellowship is open to all the scientists and researchers from any developing country. The selection will be only one person from on developing country and that is on a competitive merit based one.    

Application process

 The applications for the fellowship have to be downloaded from the official website.  The completed application forms are to be submitted to the NAM S&T centre with the proposed research plan. The applicants need to require the administrative clearance from the respective employer organisations. 

Selection

The selection is based on the applicant’s professional and academic background, the proposed research plan of work and the research areas of mutual interest to both the CFTRI and the researcher applicant.  The selected candidates though have to arrange their international fare on their own.
