Junior Research Fellowship at B.S.Abdur Rahman University in India

Introduction to the scholarship

 

The DST is sponsoring junior research fellowship for the project which is entitled ‘development of COF/Polyimide composites with low dielectric constant for microelectronic applications’ in the department of Chemistry, B.S Abdur Rahman University, Chennai, India. The scholarship is focused on the pursuing of research. The fellowship is of the duration of three years and it is renewable on an annual basis. 

The Indian students are only eligible for the fellowship. The applicant must be first class in M.Tech(Polymer technology) or M.SC (Chemistry/Inorganic/Analytical/Applied chemistry/Organic/Physical/Polymer chemistry) and not more than 28 years of age.

Scholarship Duration

The scholarship is of the duration of three years. It can be renewed on a yearly basis. The appointment for the JRF position is initially for a year and can be extended and renewed on a yearly basis. 

Scholarship coverage

The fellowship covers the candidate with Rs.12000 per month for the first two years and Rs.14000 per month for the third year. The candidate may have to look for the opportunities which exist for registration for a PhD as per the norms of the university. 

Scholarship Provider

The scholarship is provided by the DST, India. The research project is sponsored by the DST.  

Eligibility criteria for the scholarship 

The candidate has to satisfy the below eligibility criteria to avail the fellowship. 

1.       The candidate’s age more than 28 years of age are not eligible.

2.       The candidate must be first class M.Tech in polymer technology or M.Sc (Chemistry/Physical Chemistry/Analytical chemistry/applied chemistry/organic/inorganic/polymer chemistry)

3.       The candidate can also have a desirable experience of research in polymer chemistry.

4.       The candidate is expected to have the desirable criteria of written the examination of UGC/CSIR-JRF/ SLET/CSIR/GATE.

Selection

The selection criteria involves a pure merit based selection and the performance of the candidate. The candidate must accept the university offer of the admission to accept the scholarship by the deadline stipulated. If the candidate has not responded by the time stipulated, the candidature of the applicant is considered to lapse and will be offered to the next eligible candidate.
