Junior Research Fellowship for DRDO Project at PRIST University

Introduction to the Scholarship
 
The Defense Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Government of India is funding a post of junior research fellowship (JRF) in India. The fellowship is provided in Medicinal plants and their role in wound healing and regeneration. The university is not providing any TA/DA for the candidates who are attending interviews. All the applications have to be sent before the deadline. The deadlines dates for the fellowship are to be obtained from the scholarship provider. 


PRIST University, Ponnaiyah Ramajayam institutions had launched their first step in to academic domain with the establishment of Sri Ram institute of computer science and technology in the year 1985. The PRIST has added a lot of feathers to its cap with many other Arts and science colleges, Colleges of Engineering and technology, Research institutions, and Polytechnic colleges. Prist University stands tall today with many of its campuses wide spread in places such as Trichy, Puducherry, Kumbakonam, Chennai, Madurai etc. The academic reach has extended itself from the school level education to the PhD doctoral educational programmes in the broad disciplines such as Medicine, Engineering, Education, Pharmacy, management, Arts and science and Technology. 

Scholarship Provider

The scholarship is provided by the Defense Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).  The Defense Research and development organisation works under the defense research and development of ministry of Defense. It works for the continous development and growth of Science and technology in our country. DRDO is working in various areas of research in military technology namely armaments, aeronautics, combat vehicles, Instrumentation engineering systems, missiles, materials, Naval systems, advanced computing systems, simulation, and life sciences. DRDO provides ample spinoff benefits to the society at large thereby contributing to the nation and its growth and building. 

The core competence of the DRDO is basically to work for the indigenous development of weapons, sensors, platforms which are required by the three wings of the Armed forces. The recruitment and selection of the right people with the desired competencies form the base.  

Scholarship Coverage

The fellowship covers the following. It covers the candidate with Rs. 16000 per month and 10% HRA. The candidate will not be provided any TA/DA for attending the interview process.   

Scholarship duration

The fellowship is of the duration of about two years.  

Eligibility criteria for the scholarship 

The candidate has to satisfy the following eligibility criteria to avail the fellowship. 

1.       The candidates with post graduate degree either in biochemistry, biotechnology, and Microbiology with NET/GATE are eligible to apply.
2.       The candidate should have a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent in the qualifying examination to avail the fellowship.
