The applications are invited for the Oxford-Indira Gandhi scholarships for the Indian students. These are fully funded scholarships are available for pursuing the graduate degree level at University of Oxford. These fully funded scholarships will be provided for the candidates on the basis of academic merit. The scholarship covers the university and college fees and a grant for the living costs.   The awards are made for the full duration of the fee liability for the agreed course. The applications are to be sent before the deadlines depending upon the course of your choice.

The scholarships are provided to learn any of the courses which are offered by the University of Oxford.

The scholarships are provided to pursue the graduate degree level programs at the University of Oxford. 

Scholarship Provider

The scholarship is provided by the Somerville College and the University of Oxford with the generous support of the Government of India.

United Kingdom.

Eligibility criteria

The candidate has to satisfy the below eligibility criteria for the above mentioned position. 

1.       The candidate must be a proper resident of India and citizen of India.
2.       The scholarships will be provided on the basis of academic merit, relevance to the interdisciplinary aims.
3.       The candidate must ensure the selection criteria before applying for the graduate study programme.
4.        The scholarship is not open to applications for the candidates who hold deferred offers for the course.
5.       The scholarship is subject to renewal only if the scholarship is lasting for more than a year. 

Scholarship applicable to

The scholarships are applicable to the students of India. 

Number of awards

Three scholarships are offered depending on the course. 

Duration of awards

The scholarships are for the full duration of the fee liability of the agreed course. 

Scholarship coverage

The scholarship covers the 100% of the university and college fees and a grant for the living costs ( at least £13,863). The awards are made for the full fee liability of the agreed course.  

Selection criteria

The scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic merit. 

Notification

The students will be notified about the outcome of the results by the month of April.  

How to apply

There is no separate application form and process for the scholarship. In order to be considered for the scholarship, the candidate must apply for the graduate study at the university by the month of the deadlines given. Some of the deadlines for the courses are different. Medical sciences, Philosophy, Political science, and International relations, and computer science subjects have a deadline of 9th January, 2015. The deadline for the other subjects falls on 23rd January, 2015.
